Jason Deane Urban Designer and Project Management Consultant

Jason C. Deane is a Barbados-based urban and regional planner, urban designer, and project manager with more than 15 years of experience spanning the public and private sectors. He recently joined Sustainya Planning as an Urban Designer and Project Management Consultant, bringing deep, on-the-ground Caribbean delivery experience to projects that require both strategic planning insight and practical implementation discipline.

Jason is also the Principal Planner at Spatial Plan Consulting, where he leads multidisciplinary teams delivering land development and infrastructure planning across Barbados—translating complex site constraints, policy requirements, and stakeholder priorities into buildable, approval-ready solutions. He has provided advisory support to Barbados’ National Housing Corporation (NHC), contributing to affordable housing initiatives through subdivision layouts and infrastructure planning for low-income communities. Earlier in his career, he spent more than a decade with Richard Gill Associates Ltd., managing a high-volume portfolio of active projects across residential development and utility/telecommunications infrastructure.

His core strengths include urban design and master planning, subdivision design and delivery, and the coordination of EIA/ESIA/IEE processes to support environmentally responsible growth. He is recognized for a strong command of Barbados’ planning policy framework and development management practices, aligning project outcomes with sustainability, resilience, and community needs.

Jason holds an MSc (Distinction) in Town Planning and a BSc (Hons) in Urban & Regional Planning and is a Professional Member of the Barbados Town Planning Society (BTPS).
