Mrs. Lorna Perkins Managing Director and Principal Urban and Regional Planning and Environment Resource Management Consultant
Mrs. Lorna Perkins is currently the Managing Director and Principal Urban and Regional Planning and Environmental Resource Management Consultant, listed by NEPA to conduct Community Surveys, and an Adjunct Lecturer at the University of Technology (UTECH), Jamaica. She is a co-op technical member of the Clarendon Municipality Planning and Building Committee.
She has over twenty-five (25) solid foundations in urban and regional planning, environmental planning, compliance with local ordinances and regulations, and land administration services, both in the Public and Private Sectors. Mrs. Perkins’s main qualifications comprise a Master’s and a Bachelor’s Degree in Urban & Regional Planning, Environmental Management, and Land Management from the Universities of the International Institute for Aerospace Survey and Earth Sciences (ITC-Holland) and UTECH (former CAST), respectively.
She also has qualifications and experience that include a post-graduate diploma in public administration and certificates in Consultancy skills, Project Management, and Disaster Management.
She is a former Deputy General Manager for Planning and Development at Urban Development Corporation (UDC), Senior Director of Projects and Technical Services at the Ministry of Economic Growth and Job Creation (MEGJC) (2017-2020), and Director of Planning at the Ministry of Local Government and Community Development where she has led professional teams of Architects, Engineers, Quantity Surveyors, Urban Planners, Environmentalist and Project Managers.
Mrs. Perkins is also a former Board member of the Town and Country Planning Authority (TPCA) and the Beach Control Authority (TPDCo. Ltd.), and an ex officio member of the NRCA.
Lorna Perkins works with a myriad of consultants (including architects, land surveyors, planners, environmentalists, engineers, and quantity surveyors), whose combined experience, craftsmanship, and knowledge guide each project from conceptualization through to completion. We are friends of the environment and are adamant about protecting the environment. From the outset, we work closely with the design team to develop bespoke sustainable strategies that provide design guidance and improve the environmental, economic, and social performance of each project.
She has undertaken works for some of the leading planning, developers and government organizations in Jamaica, such as Build Rite and Associates – Developer, Bernard Sustainable Limited, Aesthetics Design, and Grade 1 Construction Company Ltd, National Environments and Planning (NEPA), Ministry of Local Government and Community Development, Ministry of Transport and Works, Silver Sun Homes Limited, to name a few.
